Young children are natural inquirers and, following our IB PYP Early Year’s Programme, students enjoy a daily routine filled with learning adventures with the creative emphasis on the E3 (English Enrichment Education) and Math. Our students follow four ‘Units of Inquiry’ which help them to develop a sense of identity as well as satiate their thirst to explore and learn about the world at large.
At BCS through the PYP, we nurture in our young students between the ages of 5 to 10 years, a passionate love for learning. Six transdisciplinary themes, through a research and inquiry-based approach, encourage them to examine for themselves the nuances of their content, explored along with E3 (Extended English Education) and Maths.

The IB’s Middle Years Programme, MYP, is a five-year programme for students aged 11-16 years, which requires students to complete studies across eight subject areas, as well as an interdisciplinary subject and the Personal Project. The final year contains an externally assessed (“e-Assessments”) aspect of the course,the Personal Project, and the e-Portfolio, which contains all internally assessed, summative, work resulting in the MYP Certificate.The course results are produced for each MYP student, regardless of their participation in the e-Assessments.
The IB’s Diploma Programme , DP , is a two year assessed programme for students aged 16 to 19. The Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay. The International Baccalaureate (IB) assesses student work as direct evidence of achievement against the stated goals of the Diploma Programme (DP) courses.
The IB Diploma Programme consists of 6 groups and students choose 5 subjects each from 5 groups. In addition to this, students must choose an Arts subject from the 6th group or another subject from groups 1 to 5. Subjects are further classified as High or Standard Level which basically refers to the number of hours the subjects are taught – 240 teaching hours for the High level and 150 teaching hours for the Standard level.Students choose 3 subjects for high level (not more than 4 subjects) and remaining subject at standard level. The seventh subject is a core subject: Theory of Knowledge (TOK) which asks students to reflect on the nature of knowledge, and on how we know what we claim to know.
IBDP has internal assessments, an extended essay, and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) a mandatory extracurricular program which aims to provide a ‘counterbalance’ to the academic rigour of the educational programme.
